Tim Solinger is a career services and communications professional who owns and operates Mariner Career Services, LLC, (originally established in 2007 as Mariner Career Services, LLC) which serves a growing client base across the Upper Midwest and throughout the United States from its location in Stevens Point, Wis.
In drawing on a diverse background in career services as well as marketing and communications in the software, training, consulting, insurance and publishing industries, Tim today assists clients with both job search and career support needs including assistance with positioning strategies for career launches, career changes, and second careers following retirement. In initially launching his business, he focused his services mainly on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, interviewing guidance, and career change or transition strategies. However, in recent years and in response to client feedback, he has expanded his services to provide support to clients so they can perform their jobs more effectively. These services include assistance with developing customer correspondence, sales or business development communications, sales support content, training information, process documentation, proposals, articles, reports and presentations.
Tim works with clients who include new and recent graduates, members of the skilled trades, and professionals, managers and executives across industries and employment sectors that include banking, construction, education, government, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, science and technology, and transportation and logistics.
During his career, Tim has been interviewed about resume trends and best practices by media outlets such as the Stevens Point Journal, U.S. News & World Report, WAOW-TV 9 (Wausau, Wis.), WSAW-TV 7 (Wausau, Wis.) and WEAU-TV 13 (Eau Claire, Wis.). He is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a B.A. degree in English with two years of additional coursework at the graduate school level at the UI in English education, culminating in the earning of a secondary teaching certification.
Tim has created and presented seminars, workshops and instructional programs on resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile development, and interviewing at several college campuses. In addition, he has presented public seminars on these topics at a number of communities across Wisconsin.
Tim is a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) through the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches. In addition, he is an approved career services provider with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
